It is difficult to convince a non skydiver that skydiving does not feel like you are falling. Free fall actually feels like you are flying! Most first time skydivers state that it is not what they expected. Most expect to get the stomach in your mouth feeling of a roller coaster. That does not occur. Experienced skydivers enjoy flying their bodies relative to another skydiver. Yes, I did say fly their bodies. Once you become trained, you are able to turn, move forward and go faster or slower relative to another skydiver. So you are interested? You have made it this far and you want to take skydive lessons. There are several decisions you need to make before you make that first skydive (it is a very big step). Pick a drop zone. The most important thing to consider is safety. If you are jumping in the United States, skydive only at USPA (United States Parachute Association) member drop zones. These drop zones operate within the USPA's safety guidelines. The Skydivin' Place is a member and we have a perfect student safety record. We are a small drop zone that does not have the "Student Factory" mentality. We train each of our students at a pace that is the best for the student. You should never be "rushed" into making any skydive. Proper training takes time. Tandem Skydive Lessons
Strap yourself to the front of a highly qualified tandem master and enjoy the 45 seconds of pure human flight. No worries about landing or when to pull the ripcord, all of this is handled by your tandem master. All you have to worry about is will you have time for another skydive. Your first Tandem skydive is basically a thrill ride and it is pure enjoyment. It allows a person to experience free fall and a parachute ride with the comfort of knowing that they are attached to an expert skydiver who will take care of all control of the parachute. If you desire, the controls can be given to YOU for a parachute control lesson! With a tandem you get free fall and a parachute ride. |
